Wrong about what??

Woody once said that “90% of success was just showing up!”

He was missing one CRITICAL word…….

and that one critical word was “PREPARED.”

Daily I meet with prospects and clients who want to break away from the financial struggles of their life and have a chance for something better.

It’s a universal feeling.

We all think about and worry about MONEY more than any other issue.

It’s not HEALTH CARE!

It’s THE ECONOMY!

People are worried about their pocketbooks.

They’re worried about their savings, their retirement funds, and their homes.

Most people are struggling to barely get by, forget about getting ahead.

This is very common among the people I meet and advise daily.

I ask my clients a simple question. Is your intention to “GET BY” or to “GET AHEAD?”

Let me ask YOU something……..

if your intention in life is to do just enough to GET BY, guess how much you’ll get?

Enough to GET BY. And no more.

Right?

Some people tell me that their intention is to GET AHEAD.

But after a 5 minute conversation, I can’t see anything that they’re doing that’s going to get them ahead of where they are right now.

Hopefully, YOU want to GET AHEAD.

My entire purpose for everything I do is to lead you directly onto the path so you can GET AHEAD, and more importantly STAY AHEAD and win the MONEY GAME.

I’ve been studying and applying these principles and ideas for almost 40 years, since I first picked up and began studying THINK AND GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill when I just 15.

So not only do I know that they work from my own personal experience, I’ve seen them work for thousands of others who are PREPARED to learn and apply them in their lives.

I ran a very successful Business and Personal Development company based in Vancouver, Canada a few years back. Peak Potentials Training is one of the largest of its kind in North America, if not the largest.

During my time running the company, I saw tens of thousands of people come to our seminars.

I wish I could say that 100% of them found the success they were looking for.

Sadly, success is elusive. It’s not easy. If it were, everybody would be successful all the time, and we know that’s not true.

But I got to know the 5% who did reach for more and went out and did it.

Amazingly, the 5% didn’t have a lot in common. There were just as many women as men. There were just as many younger people as older. There were housewives, mechanics, salespeople, even handicapped.

The one thing they all had in common was that they showed up PREPARED.

They all knew what they wanted, and were PREPARED to show up wherever they needed to show up to get them to the next step in the plan.

Usually, one of the first things everyone needs to do to succeed in anything is to get educated about it. Those who understand this and then show up PREPARED to learn start off miles ahead of the rest.

Once you’ve got the knowledge, you have to be PREPARED to practice using it in your life as soon and as often as possible so that it becomes HABIT. Few make it this far.

As you practice your new habit, you must be PREPARED to improve it so that you MASTER it. Only the successful make it this far.

And so it is with money, wealth and abundance.

Think about this……

Your body needs food daily to survive.

If you feed it potato chips all day, it won’t get the nourishment it needs to be strong and healthy.

WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING YOUR MIND EVERY DAY??

Are you PREPARED to make sure that you’re feeding your mind high quality, valuable thoughts every day?

Those who REALLY have the intention to GET AHEAD do.

And it's for those people that my message is intended……

If You're Not in One of These Two Groups....You've Got a Major Problem...

Do you realize that people, just like you, are going from poor to financially free every year?

They’re no smarter than you, or more educated than you, or had any more money to start with than you do. They just KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON’T, AND THEY’RE DOING SOMETHING YOUR AREN’T.

My financial consulting practice draws hundreds of people from every background imaginable. Thanks to the effective radio advertising that I’ve been doing in Phoenix for years, I’ve created a large group of clients. Every single day, from the FRONT LINES, I see exactly how most people play the money game, manage their money, and where they’re headed financially.

I see EVERYBODY struggling with money. Most can hardly keep their financial head above water.

I see EVERYBODY mismanage their money. Most haven’t got a clue what proper money management is, and are playing a losers game.

Imagine having enough money coming in every month to pay your bills without you HAVING to go to work……

We’re not talking about making millions and millions of dollars, unless of course that’s what you want to shoot for. We’re not even talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars.

For many people, we’re talking about $3,000 a month, or $5,000 or $7,000 a month.

Do you want to DRAMATICALLY increase your odds of becoming a financially free person?

There are only a two groups who have the odds in their favor when it comes to financial freedom….

Professionals, like doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc…… This group earns enough income to be able to save and grow their wealth.

Entrepreneurs…..There are always a small group of entrepreneurs who beat the odds and create businesses that generate a great income.

Which group do you fall into?

We have A NEGATIVE SAVINGS RATE in our country! Our expenses rise to meet our income…..and then some.

But, at least these folks have a fighting chance to win the game if they just learn the rules and take advantage of their situation.

Most of these “successful” people have never been educated about money management, winning the money game, and becoming financially free.

But, at least these folks have a fighting chance to win the game if they just learn the rules and take advantage of their situation.

If you DON’T fall into one of these 2 categories, YOU HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM!!

It’s not that you haven’t any chance to ever become financially free, it’s just that the odds are 1 in a million against you.

To improve your odds, you can join one of these groups!

You could decide to go back to school to become a doctor, lawyer or dentist.

You could.

But it would be expensive, and take many years to accomplish.

Or…..You could choose to LEARN how to become an entrepreneur.

You could LEARN the exact thoughts that successful entrepreneurs think!

You could LEARN the exact principles that successful entrepreneurs use!

Imagine Having Your Own "Dream Team"....

Did you see where the U.S. Men’s Basketball team won gold at the Olympics? Much like the teams of the 80’s, this year’s team was described as a “Dream Team”. Given the salary cap in professional basketball, there is no way this team could be formed except for the Olympics.

Every player was an all star. When one star sat down, another replaced him. With all that talent, there was no way this team was going to lose.

The Secret to Learning....

If you were going to teach someone something, what would be the most important quality you’d want your “student” to have?

Numerous studies have been conducted trying to answer this exact question. What is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY every student must possess?

Why would so many brilliant minds spend countless hours researching and analyzing this question? Why is it so critical to possess this quality?

Dr. Benjamin Bloom, a noted psychologist who spent the better part of his brilliant career studying EXCELLENCE once said that “ANYONE can learn ANYTHING given enough time.”

What that tells us is that you don’t have to be a genius in order to learn anything. You just have to study it as long as it takes UNTIL you’ve learned it.

The most successful people in the world in every field are all outstanding learners. They learn whatever information they need to in order to improve in their areas of interest, and never stop expanding their knowledge.

The SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY every student must possess is the DESIRE to want to learn the subject. The stronger the DESIRE to MASTER the knowledge being learned, the more successful the student will become.

Half way already.....

Can you believe it? We’re half way through 2008! Wow, where does the time fly?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the first half of 2008?

What’s been your biggest success of this year?

My primary goal was to continue to grow my business and to add value for my clients.

I wanted to invest in my education and I’ve attended 2 out of state seminars, purchased and studied dozens of books and audio books, as well as form a Master Mind Group.

I wanted to explore opportunities with business “gurus” and have several incredible opportunities now available to me.

I wanted to create a state of the art learning program, and am now actually in production for this project. I believe this program will impact the lives of millions of people.

I wanted to travel, and have 3 weeks in Europe right around the corner.

Someone mentioned to me something about a recession. I told them I refuse to participate.

We still have 6 full months left in this year. Six months that can be the starting point for your future success.

How do you intend to invest these next 6 months? What are you going to do that’ll be any different than what you’ve done for the first 6 months of this year?

Here’s an idea that is guaranteed to get you results.

Write down the single, most important thing you MUST accomplish by the end of this year. It’s got to be something that if you complete it, will be an accomplishment that will be worth the effort you’ll have to put in to get it.

Fix in your mind ONE SINGLE GOAL. Think about it. Visualize it. Meditate about it. One goal that is special.

After you decide what it is, tell someone close to you what you’re goal is and that you intend to do it by the end of the year. Ask for their support.

And then, make up your mind once and for all, that this time, YOU WILL SUCCEED. This time, there’s no doubt about it, you can and you will accomplish your goal.

Education, Education, Education.....

I get a unique view of life few of you ever have a chance to see. Having a successful financial consulting practice means I get to see a lot of people….. From every walk of life….from every economic group.

It doesn’t take long before I learn their exact financial situation. I learn it because I ask, and my prospects and clients are happy to share. They’re happy to share, because they know that they could be doing better, they should be doing better, but for whatever reason, they aren’t. And they believe that I’ve got the MAGIC PILL to make everything better.

Do you know who my favorite clients are? They’re the ones who realize that it’s up to them to LEARN what they need to be doing to GROW themselves to be more SUCCESSFUL in life. More importantly, once they’ve learned exactly what to do, THEY ACTUALLY DO IT!!!

During the process, I ask all of my client’s what their top 3 financial goals are. Stop what you’re doing right now, and take a moment to write down YOUR top 3 financial goals.

If you’re like most people, you’ll have a tough time coming up with 3.

Having asked this question to hundreds of people, l realize that few people have the goals, ambition, drive and desire that is necessary to achieve success.

Most people hope that things will turn out for them financially, but they don’t exactly know what to do for that to happen.

What’s sad is that since most people don’t know what to do, the majority of the time the end result is catastrophic!

For example, an Urban Institute analysis offers a sobering look at what can go awry with your retirement plans. It looked at people who were 51 to 61 years old in 1992. A decade later, over three quarters of them had lost their jobs, become widowed or divorced, developed new health problems, or were confronted with frail parents or in-laws. Any of those circumstances can take a bite out of retirement plans, if not force workers to scrap them altogether.

Most of these people are honest, hard working, caring individuals. Yet, they struggle financially their entire lives.

Is this where you’re headed?

Because if it is, you have the opportunity to begin to do something about it right now!

You have the opportunity to focus your attention on LEARNING the skills to reach financial freedom. Financial Freedom is a LEARNABLE PROCESS.

You’re ability to focus on LEARNING what you NEED to learn will determine if you win or lose the money game.

At the end of the day, how much you want something, how much DESIRE you have for something, will determine how much effort you’ll put into getting it. If it’s the RIGHT effort, and you are persistent, you will get it.

Just One Reason....

There is really only one reason for this blog. It’s to send out a BEACON, a very strong VIBRATION that resonates with the people I’m trying to reach. It’s almost like a BROADCASTING station. And I know that through the NATURAL LAW OF ATTRACTION, those who are ready will listen to the “music” coming from my “station” and be awakened and transformed to take their financial lives to a whole new level.

I’m here to tell you that my experience comes from THE FRONT LINES. It comes from years of sitting face to face with clients who have the exact same financial issues as you do!

Unlike all the financial “gurus” out there who dish out their knowledge like they’re the experts in every single area of finances (which they aren’t) I don’t earn my living selling courses and seminars and books. These “gurus” haven’t sat down face to face with a client for years, IF EVER!

No one has to tell me how most of us manage our money. No one has to tell me how most of us earn our money, spend our money, save our money (that’s a funny one!), invest our money, manage our credit, and how we think, feel and act towards money. No one has to tell me any of that, because I SEE IT EVERY DAY! In my office! Close and personal!

Only a handful of the prospects that come to see me are on a path that will lead them to financial freedom.

ONLY A HANDFUL!

Most are so far off course that they are headed to financial struggle their ENTIRE LIVES! Worse yet, many of them have their foot on the accelerator, and they’re headed right for the brick wall financially!

Why has this happened in the United States of America in 2008? In one of the wealthiest nation in the world, why do most of us end of struggling financially our whole lives?

Why do so few people ever achieve the “American Dream”?

Recently, I read an article that was titled “Fewer Americans Expect a Comfortable Retirement” by Dennis Jacobe, Chief Economist for the Gallup poll. It was loaded with statistics about the current attitudes of Americans. ALMOST 2 OUT OF EVERY 3 AMERICANS today are either “very worried” or “moderately worried” that they will not have enough money for retirement.

When I ask my clients when they think they’ll be able to be “financially free” (I hate the word retire) many respond that they honestly don’t know if they’ll EVER be at that point.

Others are so unrealistic that I can only guess they come from another planet that creates thousands of dollars of monthly cash flow out of thin air at the magical age of 65, and keeps coming for decades for as long as they live.

I am here to tell you beyond ANY shadow of a doubt, YOU, and you alone, will determine your financial life. Not the economy, not your boss, not your spouse, or your parents, or your friends, or your congressmen, or the fanatics in the Middle East. It’s not determined by your size, or your weight, or your looks, or your hair color, or your background, or your past either.

NOPE!

Those are all excuses for not succeeding.

Period.

End of story.

Life long learners who take their knowledge and USE IT IN THEIR LIVES are the winners EVERY SINGLE TIME.

These are the people who read constantly, who study, and learn and make the EFFORT to grow daily. These are the people who set a definite goal, a purpose for getting out of bed everyday, who have a burning passion for achieving their definite goal, who have a plan for turning their dream into reality, and are prepared to do WHATEVER IT TAKES FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES to achieve their dreams.

Are you one of those people? Or are you like the 95% who either admit that they're not, or else pretend that they are, but when it comes time to walk the walk, they head for the sidelines?

You decide if you’re a player or a spectator. The spectators yell and cheer and scream all they want, and live vicariously through the players. It’s the players who are in the game that earn the big salaries and rewards.

The moment you become completely aware that you control your financial life, and that it’s up to you to figure out how to reach your financial goals and dreams is the moment your life takes on new meaning. You are no longer at the mercy of “outside” forces. You control your destiny.

I should have done more.....

How much time do you devote to growing yourself in your profession, your career, your business?

Last week I was in Detroit for the annual conference of Bank on Yourself advisors. It was an opportunity to spend time with some of the top advisors in the world, to network with them, to learn from them, to teach them, and to share experiences.

It’s easy to spot the top advisors. They all have specific habits that separate them from the rest of the group.

As each one took their turn training from the stage, they would discuss the route they took to achieve their success.

In every instance, it began with a passion so strong for what they were doing that it radiated out to every person. Their belief in what they did, and the positive impact their program has on clients who implement their strategy was a driving force that couldn’t be denied.

They have a SYSTEM for delivering a steady stream of qualified prospects to talk to.

They have a SYSTEM for converting their prospects into clients.

They have a SYSTEM for delivering massive value to their clients on an ongoing basis.

They all have a work ethic that places them in the top 5%, because to them, THIS ISN’T WORK, it’s a passion.

I returned from Detroit renewed with the drive and determination to continue to build my business and provide incredible value to my clients. I returned with a huge amount of new knowledge that can help my clients achieve their financial goals and dreams.

The time, money and effort I invested to go to Detroit was small in comparison to the benefits I’ve already got and will continue to get as a result of my efforts.

When I suggest to my clients that they allocate 10% of their income for their education, most of them look at me like I’m nuts! Let’s face it; most of us don’t invest a dime in our education once we graduate from school.

But if you ever want to become successful, if you ever want to become financially free, you’d better change your attitudes about education soon. Those who reach the top, who see the success, who create the freedom they want, are willing to work with the NATURAL LAWS OF SUCCESS. Learning how to THINK successfully, and then taking the actions to turn your plans into reality is where the life changing moments occur.

Although I’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, and thousands of hours learning and studying the keys to success, I wished I’d have spent twice as much!

Financial freedom is a challenge few ever win. I consider myself one of the lucky ones for having climbed that mountain. Do you want that same freedom? Do you want to be able to have control of your life, and not be a slave to your job or business?

It all begins with the thoughts you place in your mind. It begins with your becoming aware that you are nothing more than the sum total of your thoughts.

The vast majority of baby boomers are ill equipped for retirement, and the generation after them are even worse prepared! It is entirely up to you to determine your financial fate! You and no one else but you. If you struggle, you are responsible for your struggle. You have no one else to blame for your struggles but yourself. Conversely, if you succeed, you will have caused your success. Regardless whatever else is going on in the world, it is still up to you to succeed!

Declare out loud that you are committed to your financial success. Declare out loud that you are prepared to LEARN. Declare out loud that you will take action every day to begin to move you towards your financial goals and dreams.

Is It the Quickest Way?

Almost 3 years ago I wrote in this blog about a system taught by my friend and mentor Harv Eker called SPEEDWEALTH. It’s a system designed to show ANYONE who has the true desire, EXACTLY how to create a MILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS in 3 years or less.

In a nutshell, the system is a checklist for the entrepreneur to follow.

After learning this system, I designed my business to follow the checklist that the system called for.

The results speak for themselves. The financial advisory practice I created has grown from the day I opened my business, to the point where I am among the top advisors in the nation in my area of expertise.

While I wanted to prove that the SPEEDWEALTH system worked, I also wanted to improve my entrepreneurial skills.

Why have I focused so much of my recent life to ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

For every 100 new businesses that open their doors today, approximately 80 percent will fail in the first 3 years. Of the remaining 20 percent, 16 percent will have bought themselves a job, and ONLY 4 PERCENT will be creating wealth!

If you think those odds sound lousy, it’s A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE for the EMPLOYEE who gets paid a salary or by the hour or job.

Unless you are paid on performance or by results, you will struggle with money your entire life.

The problem is, virtually no one is creating FINANCIAL FREEDOM. The overwhelming majority of the public goes to work, gets a paycheck, and stays on the proverbial treadmill their whole lives.

The Incredible Power of Intention.....

If I could tell you just one thing that would make the biggest difference in your life, it would be to find someone extremely successful that you know and admire, and MODEL them. Figure out what it is that makes them so successful and follow their lead. Throughout my life, I have modeled the characteristics, habits, traits, tactics, systems, philosophies of those who have achieved uncommon success in areas of life that are important to me. It’s the sum total of all of these people and their characteristics that have molded me into who I am today.

This past weekend I went to San Diego to spend 2 ½ days with the brilliant Michael Gerber of E-Myth fame. I went for a number of reasons. First, simply to get to meet and learn with this giant in the area of entrepreneurship, my greatest passion. Second, to get very clear about how I wanted to take my business to another level. Third, to meet as many of the other participants and network with these like minded souls. Fourth, figure out if there was ANY way I could create a JV arrangement or alliance with Michael Gerber.

The event started on Friday, and just prior to the start I got an email from my good friend Harv Eker of Peak Potentials Training who is also a friend of Michael’s asking me to send his regards. Michael certainly knew Harv. Me, I was just another face in the crowd.

The event was exactly as advertised. Dream. What’s your Dream? What’s your vision? Your purpose? Your mission?

When you hear the words come out of Michael Gerber’s mouth, it just seems to mean more. When he emphasizes key concepts again, and again, and again, and again, it’s time to highlight them and circle them too!

I chose to pay the premium and get to be on Michael’s ‘HOT SEAT”. There were probably about a dozen of us out of the room of 45 who would get the experience of being on Michael Gerber’s HOT SEAT.

On Sunday morning, I still hadn’t had my turn on the HOT SEAT yet, and I was beginning to wonder what I had gotten myself into. Michael wasn’t pulling any punches and he was getting his points across to each of those who were brave enough to go through the process. I’ll bet those who were willing to step up and sit on the HOT SEAT got the most out of the weekend. But I knew I’d be called up at some point on Sunday, and I was just prepared to take it like a man.

Most disappointing was that I didn’t see any way to create an alliance or JV arrangement with Michael Gerber, and that was the highest aspiration I had going into the weekend. THAT WAS MY INTENTION.

All of a sudden, on Sunday morning, Michael introduces his ‘Chief Negotiator” Mark, who then makes a fantastic presentation and discusses the opportunity to become a ‘STRATEGIC PARTNER’ with Michael and his team. I’ve seen Mark throughout the event but never had a chance to talk with him at breaks or at meals.

Could this be the opportunity I was looking for? Could this be my lucky break? Could I actually become a “STRATEGIC PARTNER” with Michael Gerber? I was sure going to find Mark at the break and talk to him about it.

At the next break I immediately introduced myself to Mark and began to talk with him, but there were several others who also wanted to speak with him, and I wasn’t able to accomplish much.

After lunch, it was my turn to be on the stage with Michael. We began to discuss my dream, vision, purpose and mission. It was much more like a pleasant conversation than having Michael ripping me apart! Then Michael asked me to fill in the blanks, my background, education, prior work experience, what I was currently doing. I spoke about my passion for financial freedom and personal growth. I spoke about my belief in entrepreneurship as the greatest vehicle to financial freedom. I spoke about the incredible need for education in the areas of money and success. I spoke about the sleeping passions inside of all of us that just need to be woken up.

Afterwards, Mark came over to me and said that they’d like to explore a strategic partnership with me! Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to go into further details other than….”I’ll be in touch with you Jeff”, so until the details have been confirmed, it’s something brewing.

Regardless, my intention was to make something happen while I was at this seminar with Michael Gerber. He had never met me before. He knew absolutely nothing about me. There was no reason to believe that of all the people he has to choose from he would even consider me. But I was determined to see if it could happen, and believed that if it could happen it would happen. And IT DID!

Being a STRATEGIC PARTNER with Michael Gerber, would be a life transforming experience. My ideas and philosophies are in complete alignment with Michael’s. My desire to have a major impact on the financial lives of millions of people can be fulfilled with Michael Gerber as my STRATEGIC PARTNER. I believe in my heart and soul that there would be no stopping us (Not that Michael Gerber needs anything at all from me)

Until I have the chance to spend time in conversation with Mark, I’ll keep moving forward with my work, and when the time comes where there is more confirmation one way or the other, I’ll post it here first.

No matter what, the future is bright.

It's Exciting!

For almost 3 years now, I’ve been posting to this blog. It is something I do with passion, because I truly believe in the depths of my soul that the information here can transform people’s lives.

I believe it because everything I write about I live.

I believe it because at the age of 54, I have accomplished more, accumulated more, experienced more, journeyed more than just about anyone else I’ve ever known. I am free to take my life in any direction and to pursue any dream I want.

I believe it because every single day I have people in my office, or on the phone, or via email that thank me for inspiring them to improve some area of their lives.

I began covering my costs after the first 90 days, and have never looked back. The growth of the business has been exponential. I earned more in my first year of being in business for myself than in any other year of my life. By far!

Most importantly, I’ve met hundreds of people who have opened up their financial lives to me, and shared exactly where they stand today.

And after weeks, months, and now years since I’ve begun this work, I’ve found WHAT’S MISSING! It’s incredible that this huge, critical, vital piece is missing in virtually everybody’s life!

Every single client I talk to about this; Every single friend I talk to about this; Every single associate I talk to about this….they all agree, it’s missing. And I’ll bet it’s missing to some degree in your life too!

In 2 weeks I’ll be traveling to San Diego to participate in a 2 ½ day workshop with the great Michael Gerber of E-Myth fame. Another Quarter Almost In the Books...

Can you believe it? Here we are at the end of March and the first quarter of 2008.

How’s it been for you so far?

Have you accomplished any goals?

Are you moving forward in your life?

For me, it seems like life is moving faster than the speed of light.

The one thing I’ve gained an appreciation for as I age is how precious time is, and how much of it we all waste.

The first quarter of 2008 has been totally phenomenal so far.

My primary goal was to attract dozens of new clients, and I am among the top advisors in the country.

But I wanted to start a major new project, and I am well on my way to introducing my new web site.

By far, it’s the most fun, challenging and exciting project I’ve ever undertaken, and I know that the end result will be a site that will transform the lives of many people.

More importantly, I’m building a team of clients who all want to grow to their full financial potential and who are assisting me in this project. There is no doubt in my mind that we will grow it into something extraordinary over the next 2 to 3 years. You’ll be hearing much more about this new web site in the very near future.

Over the past almost 40 years, since I was 15 and first read THINK AND GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill, I have been developing a SYSTEM to automatically create success in every important area of life, especially financially. It was only a couple of years ago that I finally found the “MISSING PIECE” that completed the system.

Today, I meet with clients daily to assist, council and coach them to reach their full financial potential. I employ all the parts of my system.

Soon, I’ll be able to offer this system to anyone, anywhere in the world. For me, that’s very exciting.

You can decide that you’re going to begin to take action too, and make the rest of 2008 extraordinary for you too. It’s as simple as making up your mind, setting a goal, putting together a plan, surrounding yourself with the right people, and going to work until you get what you want.

There aren’t any shortcuts to success. You can take the quickest routes by learning from the best, but at the end of the day, you have to think for yourself, and you have to do for yourself, because you are 100% responsible for yourself.

There has never been a better time in the history of mankind for you to create financial freedom for yourself. If you aren’t creating it is it because you don’t care, is it because you didn’t think you could, or is it because you don’t know what to do?

If you don’t care, then there isn’t anything anyone can do to help you. You will always struggle with money.

If you don’t think you can create freedom, all that means is that you’ll have to work on your mindset.

If you don’t know what to do, all that means is that there’s still something you don’t know. You need to find the “MISSING PIECE”.

I Know I'm Repeating Myself....

I was 15 years old. Somehow, I found myself reading a book called “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

My life was transformed from the thoughts of Napoleon Hill.

Napoleon Hill was a very unique person. He was given introduction to the most successful people of his era, the giants in the worlds of industry, entertainment, politics, religion, science, medicine, etc. In total, he interviewed and took notes on over 500 giants in the world at that time.

He completed this part of his mission in 20 years.

Then he compiled his findings into “The Science of Human Achievement”, and condensed it into his best selling book “Think and Grow Rich”.

At the age of 15, I became a student of Napoleon Hill. I read everything he wrote, and I made notes on everything I read. Then I went out and practiced everything I wrote.

That was 38 years ago. During that time, I have never been sick one single day! I’m in perfect health, (at least good enough to get “preferred” ratings from the insurance company). I live the exact life I’ve always wanted to live. I have choice to do whatever I am passionate about doing, because I am financially free.

I have a terrific wife and a happy marriage, because that’s important to me.
I have terrific health, because that’s important to me.
I have fantastic relationships with the people I care about, because that’s important to me.
I have a huge passion for my own personal growth, to realize my full potential and not hold anything back, because that’s important to me.
I travel all over the world and take great vacations, because that’s important to me.
I create incredible value for all of my clients, because that’s important to me.
I can do whatever I want to do with my life; I have freedom of choice, because that’s important to me.
I am a lifelong learner, because that’s important to me.
I am financially free, because that’s important to me.
I am a spiritual being, because that’s important to me.

What’s important to you? Because if you can tell me what’s important to you, I can show you exactly how to get it.

Over the past 38 years, since fate brought Napoleon Hill into my life, there has never been a time when I’m not reading several self help books and listening to audio programs at the same time, and planning my next seminar that I want to get to. I would venture to say that I am in the top 1% of all “learners” in society. I would also venture to say I have invested in the top 1% for my lifetime education.

Every book I read, every audio program I listen to, every seminar I attend, I learn something. And I take what I learn and put it into use immediately. It didn’t happen overnight, because I had some faulty thinking that was slowing me down. It took a while to make some new habits or break old bad habits.

In the second that you make up your mind that you know what’s important in your life and that you really want it, you can change the direction of your life forever. You can have so much more quality in your life.

The problem is, if you could have done it, you would have done it by now. Something is still missing. And for most people, it’s the right coach, the right mentor. Someone who has already spent the time to become successful themselves in their lives, and whose knowledge and experience can keep you moving towards your goals in life.

What is my particular area of expertise? Winning the money game. Most people don’t even realize that we all play a game called the money game. Like it or not, you’re in the game. Over our lifetime, we are either going to win the game or lose it. Most people lose it, because most people don’t know the rules to the game, they don’t know what the goal is, they don’t know how to win. Most people play on the defensive, playing not to lose.

It’s a completely different set of strategies if you’re playing to win. The fact is, there are an infinite number of ways to win the money game, and for every single person who is reading this there are many different ways that you could win the game. Every single person can win the money game. Every single person should win the money game. But only about 5% do. Why? Because we’re never taught the right way to deal with money.

In business, if 100 people started up a new business today, 2 years later 80 of them are out of business. 15 have bought themselves a job. 5 are creating wealth. Only 5% are successful.

To be in the top 5% financially, you have to be committed to that goal. If it was easy, there’d be a lot more than 5% succeeding. You are going to have to overcome challenges. You are going to have to grow out of your current comfort zone. YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GROW YOURSELF INTO SOMEONE WHO IS CAPABLE OF BEING IN THE TOP 5%.

This is the Universal law of cause and effect. For every cause there is an effect. If you want a certain effect, or result, you will have to create the cause. That part’s up to you. Getting into the top 5% is the result. What was the cause? You grew yourself into the person who was capable of getting that result.

How do you know if you’re a good prospect for my programs?

What’s important to you?

If you find that many of the things that are important to me are also important to you, then you are a potential prospect for my programs.

The Incredible Power of....

Marketing!

The incredible power of Marketing!

Last week I had the opportunity to spend 3 phenomenal days attending a seminar offered by Joe Polish and his Piranha Marketing group. The list of presenters represented a “who’s who” of marketing and entrepreneurship.

There were so many incredible ideas tossed around during the seminar that any one of them could be worth a million dollars to the right person.

The thing that surfaced for me more than anything else is that we are all just one magnificent marketing campaign away from changing our lives forever.

In case you don’t know Joe’s story, he created a marketing strategy for carpet cleaners to use, but only if they wanted to grow their business by 100%, or 200% or more. Only if they wanted to create wealth for themselves instead of just owning a job. And the strategies he developed could be used by others as well. Perhaps Joe’s biggest and best known client is Bill Philips, best selling author of Body For Life. Joe helped Bill grow his business to the point where Bill was able to sell it in 1999 for $300 million.

Joe now meets with and interviews some of the most successful marketers and entrepreneurs in the world. He is in on the cutting edge of what works in the areas of marketing, and what motivates buyers to buy.

I’m guessing that there were 600 to 700 people at the event. The interesting thing about these attendees is that these are all people who were prepared to travel across long distances (several of them flew over from Europe), give up several days of their life and invest thousands of dollars to get this incredible knowledge.

Of course, attending the seminar doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s what people actually do with their new knowledge that makes the difference.

There is a certain energy that surrounds a group meeting like this. It’s almost a magical energy. Many never experience this kind of energy ever. Once you do, you will be hooked.

As you dream about your future, make sure you’re budgeting some of your time, energy and money into seminars offered by the best in your field. It’s an investment that will pay off in spades.

Turning the Odds in Your Favor...

Remember when you were a kid?

Anything was possible. You could have chosen to do anything with your life. You had a million choices.

Look at your life today. Is it what you imagined when you were just a kid? Are you happy with your life today? Is your future bright and exciting?

What happens to most of us along our journey through life? What happens to our hopes and dreams? Why do 95% fall short of what we dreamed possible when we were too young to know any better?

The messages you read at my blog are aimed directly at the 5% WHO GET IT, and realize the single most important ingredient to success.

In my business, I get to meet a lot of people all of the time. We talk about their financial goals and dreams, and we implement systems and strategies to turn those dreams into reality.

Learn this lesson well. In fact, promise yourself that you will reflect on this for at least 10 minutes today and apply it in your life. It’s that important.

You will come to learn from me that the single best way for most people to reach their financial dreams is to go into business for themselves. Become an entrepreneur.

There are countless business ventures out there that work. If you surf the internet, you will find enough options to keep you busy forever. Look in the “businesses for sale” section of your local newspaper for even more options.

Of course, you can always learn how to invest in real estate with little or no money of your own, and create millions that way.

Same thing goes for stocks or options trading or foreign currency exchange.

In my days running Peak Potentials Training, I got to see firsthand what really happens to seminar attendees.

The advantage you have as an entrepreneur is that there is no ceiling on your income. You can dramatically grow your income just by learning to be a better entrepreneur. And becoming successful is a learnable skill.

Unfortunately, most are terrible money managers. How do you rate as a money manager? Do you have a system for managing your money now? Do you use it regularly?

Learning to become an excellent money manager is a decision you need to make before you will ever reach your full financial potential. Committing to learning a money management system and then keeping with it will have a huge impact on your life.

A big component to winning the money game is to understand the rules. Becoming an excellent money manager is critical to winning the game. And whether you realize it or not, you are now playing this game, and over your lifetime, you are either going to win it, or you are going to lose it. Which do you choose? If you choose to win the game, you will need to excel as a money manager.

Not only that, there are strategies that allow you to begin to recapture much of the money your spending. By creating the right system, you can change the financial flow of energy in your life from "cash out" to "cash in" and recapture dollars that would otherwise be lost forever. Now that’s a way to KEEP more of your own money.

GROWING IT is the final piece to the puzzle. You have to become an expert in investing your money. And the place to begin is in the best investment you can ever make. INVEST IN YOURSELF. No matter what happens, once you have learned success skills, no one can ever take them away from you, you can never lose them. The truly successful people never stop educating themselves and never stop learning. That means investing money and time and effort. Understand this and accept it, or else accept the fact they you are doomed to you current situation. YOU will need to become the person capable of growing your money.

Investments will come in 2 forms. Some investments will involve placing your money in different instruments to either earn you interest, or dividend income, or profits from the sales. This is called money earning you money.

Some investments will involve putting your money in a business where you don’t have to physically be there, and living off the profits of the business. This is called business earning you money.

It Just Keeps Getting Better......

Have you ever been on a roll that just keeps getting better and better?

Where everything you do just works, and you feel unstoppable?

Right now, I am going through one of those phases, and all I can hope is that it never ends.

2007 is shaping up to be the most profitable year of my life. Even better is the fact that I am having more fun than at anytime in my life. All while taking more vacation time than I ever have.

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while already know that I am a total personal development fanatic. It all started for me when I was just 15, and I read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I knew immediately, even at that young age, that the information it contained was the key to my lifelong success.

I studied the Science of Personal Success like it was my bible. And I also began to read folks like Dale Carnegie (How to Win Friends and Influence People), Dr. Norman Vincent Peale (The Power of Positive Thinking), Zig Ziglar (See you at the Top). By the time I was 18 I had read dozens of books in the whole arena.

All of a sudden, I discovered audio programs. So, in addition to the books, I now discovered people like Earl Nightingale, Tony Robbins, and too many others to mention.

Then I discovered seminars, and look out, I was all over the place.

Over the next 38 years, I have been a testing ground for all of the ideas and concepts I’ve learned. Today I am 53, financially free, with great health, great relationships, everything I really want in life, and a business that has boomed from the second I started it.

The key to my success has been to find people who have the best ideas and concepts in the areas of importance to me, and then to learn from them, and apply the ideas and concepts that have been proven to work by them. In other words, if you are going to learn, learn from the best!

A couple of years ago I picked up a book called “The Science of Influence How to Get Anyone to Say Yes in 8 Minutes or Less!” The title caught my eye, but the author Kevin Hogan was a stranger to me.

When I read the book, I realized that it was special. For what I want to do in life, this information is invaluable.

Today, I apply dozens of ideas and strategies from this book, and reread it monthly for fresh new ideas that I can incorporate into my life. I also subscribe to Kevin’s newsletter, and read it thoroughly even single week.

Over the past 2 years, I have come to appreciate Kevin as an exceptionally talented and successful entrepreneur who provides massive value and gets paid accordingly.

So when I saw that he was offering a coaching program for an area that is a concrete part of my strategic marketing plan, public speaking, I had to take it. I always want to associate with and learn from the best.

If we’re not growing, we’re dying. Just as I coach my clients to take their lives to whole other level, I want to take that journey too!

My mentor Harv Eker told me that it takes creativity to make money. If you can develop the right marketing plan, you can grow your business ten times in a year. He did it. He showed me how he did it. And in all of his programs he challenges everyone to go for it. I know how to grow my business ten times in a year. With Kevin’s coaching, I’m going for it.

The only thing that matters.....

Ever have an A-HA! moment? You know, where you realize something for the first time a certain way, and now you understand it in a whole new light?

I experience them all the time. I look forward to them. Because every time I have an A-HA moment, my life has just improved.

One of the purposes of my blog is to remind myself of some of the A-HA’s I’ve learned along the way, but maybe forgot.

Here’s one that came up today.

My client was telling me about the crappy year he’d been having. And it was crappy, no denying it.

My problem was that he was crying about things that had happened months ago.

Do you want to be a success in life? Do you want to join the elite top 5%? Do you want to take your life to the peaks of your potential?

If you do, you MUST understand this.

It doesn’t matter what happened to you yesterday, or last month, or last year. It’s done. There isn’t anything you or anyone else can do to change it, right?

If you’re smart, you’ll look at it objectively and learn what you could have done better to have gotten you a better outcome. You learn from your life, and you move on.

What does matter is what you choose to do from this moment on.

You can choose to continue doing exactly what you’re currently doing. If you do, it won’t be hard to predict what your future will look like.

Or, you can choose to take all of the experiences of you life and use them as a learning tool so that you can do a whole lot better from now on.

You have the power at any moment to decide that you want to be more than just average. You can decide at any moment to take complete control and responsibility for your life, and choose to live your dreams.

Many of my coaching clients are learning for the very first time as an adult, that they aren’t trapped by their current situation. They are excited, motivated, committed, happy, and enthusiastic.

I hope you realize that the past is history. It’s done. It’s over. Move on. What’s most important is what you choose to do from this moment forward.
